BACKGROUND
* About Nightrider Services
SMRT Buses launched Singapore's first night bus service to provide another transport option for midnight revellers. The first NR service, NR 1 was rolled out on 10 March 2000.
Following the successful launch of NR 1, six more services, namely NR 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8, were introduced to provide an island-wide network in May 2000.
* About SN services
Singapore MRT Ltd introduced the three SN services on 1 July 2000 to provide affordable and convenient travel during those hours when the MRT ceases to operate and the system undergoes maintenance. Like NR services, the SN services link the main downtown areas including Orchard Road, Clarke Quay, Boat Quay, Mohd Sultan Road, and Bugis to the housing areas in the East, West and North.
